In 1964, Capitol records had two main pressing facilities of their own.

The flagship was located in Los Angeles, CA.The east coast plant was in Scranton, PA.

Each plant has their own unique marking that they placed in the run-out vinyl located between the last groove of the last song and the record
label. These markings can be found on 7 inch and 12 inch pressings.
In the beginning, LA hand-etched a X-pointed star which later transformed into a machine-stamped x-pointed asterisk. Scranton, PA
machine-stamped an equilateral triangle in which were the letters IAM, with the I atop the AM, which are found side by side.

In 1966, Capitol opened a third plant in Jacksonville, IN. This plant imprinted a set of machine-stamped opened and closed parentheses in the
vinyl.

Capitol did contract out for pressing to meet demand for Beatle's records. Some pressing will not display any Capitol markings
